SMC IrDA problem with 2.4.18

Hi,

I'm a happy new user of the new Dell Latitude c610 for a couple of days.
The one of the remaining issues I try to deal with is irda device. I can't
get it to work under linux (kernel 2.4.18). It works under windows and
introduces as: SMS IrCC - Fast Infrared Port. So I tried it with smc
driver, but no success:
Mar 3 22:51:39 bzzzt kernel: found SMC SuperIO Chip (devid=0x0e rev=01 base=0x002e): LPC47N252
Mar 3 22:51:39 bzzzt kernel: ircc_open
Mar 3 22:51:39 bzzzt kernel: SMC IrDA Controller found
Mar 3 22:51:39 bzzzt kernel: IrCC version 2.0, firport 0x280, sirport 0x2f8 dma=3, irq=3
Mar 3 22:51:39 bzzzt kernel: irport_open()
Mar 3 22:51:39 bzzzt kernel: irport_open(), can't get iobase of 0x2f8
The same ioports/dma and irq are reported to use under windows.
Any ideas what to do?

/proc/interrupts, /proc/ioports, lspci -vvv, kernel config attached

thanks,
pkot
