Just as another datapoint, I'll attach a copy of my dmesg and .config,
Compaq Presario 1600S K6-2-450, 192 meg of ram. Exhibits the same
problem, hangs on shutdown -r, halts and powers off gracefully with
shutdown -h.
The last time I remember reboot working properly under linux was when I
had rh 6.2 and a 2.2.x kernel.
