There are big database test sets that fail in all 2.2 kernels tried. So I
dont think we can ignore the problem

I do however agree about the performance issue. 2.2 is shaking out obscure
bugs nicely now. There are some definite tcp bugs left so Im prepared to work
through this mm one too.
