2.2.17pre-6 may break rpc.rstatd?

Hello There,

        This is the first time I have mailed in a potential bug report, so don't
get too upset :-)

        Here is a message which appeared in my /var/log/messages after booting
        kernel 2.2.17pre-6 (the message was NOT there in pre-4):

        rpc.rstatd[419]: unable to register (RSTATPROG, RSTATVERS_USERS, udp).

        Now, my distribution is Caldera OpenLinux 2.3 (with various RPM's updated)

        rpm -q of rstatd reports: rstatd-3.03-1

        Kernel version from /proc/version

cat /proc/version

        Machine is a pent-200, 2 Intel NIC's, 32MB Ram, PCI based Video, ISA PC/Xem
Digiboard, CT-4810 sound card (ES-1371 chipset), Seagate 2GB Hard Drive
(ST32140A)

        cat /proc/cpuinfo returns:

Not using SCSI hardware on this system
