When making e2fsprogs-1.18 on 2.4.0test1-ac22 box,
   I've got erros as appended.
Reverting to the 2.2.17p5 solves the problem.

This will be fixed in e2fsprogs 1.19. A pre-release snapshot is
available e2fsprogs.sourceforge.net, if you wish to play with it. Be
warned it's a pre-release, with all the joys that go along with that.
(For example, I just got e-mail earlier this week stating that the new
non-desutructive write testing code in badblocks might actually be
destructive in some cases. Oops.)

Note that e2fsprogs 1.19 also features the source code to resize2fs
which is finally available under the GPL. (It's rather stable, since
the source has been available in binary-only form and as part of
Partition Magic product for over a year.)

You can get a snapshot from http://e2fsprogs.sourceforge.net
