Odd. My RedHat 6.1 system has nothing pertaining to *System.map* in any
of the startup files. By symlinking the maps from <your_choice> to /boot
as, e.g. 'System.map-2.2.16', klogd has no trouble finding them. It
knows enough to extrapolate "System.map-<version>" according to the
currently-running kernel.
