You could go for either of the last two you mentioned, with the
2.2.16+Alan's patches being the stable release.

Note 2.2.14 is also vulnerable to the CAPABILITY bug that 2.2.15 suffers
from and what was the actual reason for 2.2.16. You would want to get a
fixed (patched) 2.2.14, fixed (patched) 2.2.15 or 2.2.16, best you get
it at once. (You can always save your old kernel and modules and keep it
to put it back in)
