and I have a minor problem with one ide channel and a very old drive (80
MB Maxtor):
It tries to enable DMA support, but that fails and it switches back to
no dma.
and the proc interface offers access to smart, but the drive isn't that
smart - another error on 'cat /proc/ide/hdd/smart_{thresholds,values}'
I'm not sure if this is a VIA or a drive problem.
But it's far better than before - older versions hung on boot.
