[OT] PowerEdge 6300 w/ PERC 2/SC controller

Hi!

I know this is off topic but has anyone ever succeeded in installing
Linux (RH 6.2 or whatever) on a Dell PowerEdge 6300 with a PERC 2/SC
RAID controller.

Our system has two IBM 8.5GB SCSI-3 hard disks in the system which is
organised as a RAID 1 logical disk.

I have been trying to install RH 6.2 on this machine for the last two
hours. Each time it fails to boot (first time - couldn't uncompress
kernel, second time - booted kernel OK but panicked with a failure to
mount root fs on 0:8).

Any pointers to FAQs or anything that would let me get Linux up and
running happily on this PowerEdge would be most helpful.
