That's basically the same problem as with Maestro. Allegro is a stripped
down/integrated version of the Maestro. The only way to get at the
audio PCM data is to go via the "ASSP" section of the Allegro chip,
which ESS refused to document so far.
Expect drivers when/if ESS releases ASSP specs.
