The MTRR driver doesn't work reliably on machines with close to or
more than 4GB of memory (if you don't touch /proc/mtrr, it doesn't
cause any problems, but XFree86-4 will fiddle with /proc/mtrr by
default). I have a patch against 2.2.15 to fix this; it's probably
most appropriate for inclusion with the bigmem patches rather than
mainstream 2.2.x. Who do I send it to?
