think about a couple things here.

1 most of the time the drives will be doing a bunch of seeking which will
lower their throughput drasticly

2. think about what the max bandwidth of the PCI bus is, you will end up
bunping into that limit before to long (which is why Gig-Ethernet cards
max out at 300-500MB/s on intel hardware)
