How to optimize Linux 2.2.14 for Server?

Hi,

are there any docs how to optimized kernel /proc settings for Server?
Our server has:

Goliath Board (4x PPro 200)
256 MB RAM
32 GB on GDT RAID controller
Fast Ethernet

System is Linux 2.2.14
- Application server
- ~12 concurrent users

BTW: Are there any hints for using 2.2.[15,16] with that hardware?
