USB and Keyboard Problems Fixed?

A while ago (around the release of RedHat 6.1) a few people brought up an
issue with newer kernels where, on certain motherboards, any attempted use
of the mouse (running gpm, running X, etc.) would freeze the keyboard, (not
able to type anything, not able to turn numlock on or off, etc.). I think
it was eventually discovered that it was a conflict between the USB and PS/2
subsystems. Has this been resolved yet, and if so, what kernel version has
the fix?
