Re: Does /var/shm still need to be mounted?

    My personal preference is with those think /shm is a better
    place, but I agree that /var/shm is a bad place for it.

As horrible as I think /dev/shm and /proc/shm are, I think /shm is
worse. I really don't like to see lots of cruft thrown into / for
lack of a better place to put it.

If I had to chose, I think /dev/shm makes the most sense, as hpa
points out, we already have /dev/pts.
