Nope, the filetypes feature is not implemented in the 2.0 kernels at all
for ext3, so it isn't just a matter of fixing a few lines. However, you
may be interested in Ted's backport of the "sparse super" ext2 support
for 2.0. This reduces filesystem overhead considerably for large filesystems,
as well as speeding up e2fsck a bit.
