I think your idea is well warranted, however, I was wondering what people
thought about adding more onto it. I have to say that I think the *BSD folks
have it right with their bug tracking for the kernel. I see a lot of patches
flying around the list, but I have yet to find a GNATs database for the
kernel. I searched throught all of the old kernel mailing list archives and
only found 20 hits when searching for "GNATS" and most of them were 2 years
old or more.
