Historical note: the whole raison d'etre of /linuxrc is that there is
work to do before change_root, namely loading of modules and setting
of /proc/sys/kernel/real-root-dev (add some extra magic for NFS-root,
but this probably doesn't work anymore).

Using pivot_root instead of change_root instantly eliminates the need
for /linuxrc. And change_root is doomed anyway (doesn't work well with
all the little kernel processes we have now, can't handle any of the
more sophisticated transitions, etc.).
