Regaurding this whole /linuxrc thing. Someone mentioned, leaving it
alone and creating a 'preinit=' that is run about the same place
as /linuxrc. I'd love to see this..

Why?
 Useful for setting up things prior to init, like devfs
 Solves the questionable functions of /linuxrc by providing an alternate
 Works even if you're not using initrd
 Standardized way to execute things prior to init
 Will not fail for lack of /dev/console (Current init= will!)

If we can agree on this idea lemme know and I'll code it up.
