I've only seen one patch by Bernd on linuxppc-dev that day, and it was
unrelated to HFS.

But after rsync to Paul's current tree yesterday (pre7) I could copy stuff
to the HFS partition without a panic again. Useful enough for me (to
just copy kernel images over to MacOS, that is).
Still panics on creating a new directory (at top level). And I'll have to
try the zip again (and apply Bernd's patch, just in case :-)

I've successfully mounted and read both a pure HFS CD and a hybrid one
(the m68k Debian 2.1 CD), with no problems whatsoever. I can try the
LinuxPPC 2000 CD (the lite one I presume) but I'll have to download it
first.

Overall, I'd say it's much improved.
