Andrea's patch works perfectly, no more crashes since:
sar (from sysstat, the initial cause) + two setiathome +
the while :; dd ... bs=1024 ... was running over 12 hours,
then killed, rest now uptime >48 h, all works.
Without Andrea's patch, even with 2.2.14pre19,
sar + 2 seti's crash between 5 seconds and hours,
with while :; dd ... bs=1024 ... between instantaneous and <10s.
Kernel with Andrea's `idk': no usable informations at crash,
never an oops, machine absolutely hanging, sysrq works maybe,
console switching works, but no response from keyboard.
Strange: after crash one CPU goes higher in temperature, the other
versus standby, but never the same (each has a thermometer!).
All tests under line oriented console, I'm on UNIX since AT&T SVR2!
