Oopses from inetd

Helo,

Does anybody know why inetd breaks down the kernel?

Kernel 2.2.14 with international patch (but it didn't change select.c,
in which oops happen),
compiled by gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release),
