not familiar with it, perhaps you should install devfsd (my config attached)
to handle legacy tty handling.

edit your securetty to look like this:

console
tty1
tty2
tty3
1
2
3
...etc as is applicable. note, this is not "vc/1" as is in your inittab but
just "1"
