Toshiba Satellite Boot Problems

Hi there,

I have never been able to get my Toshiba Satellite 2540XCDT to boot a 2.3
series kernel. They always just lock after "uncompressing kernel
... booting linux". The last one I tried was 2.3.46.

Does anyone have suggestions, or parallel experiences?
