I'm curious, there's a version register we ignore. I'll whip up a patch
which displays it atleast to see what version it claims to be.
Can you give me a lspci -v output as well?

Nah, it's not important.
It's looking more and more like a hardware problem than a software
change problem. If we see something otherwise it may be helpful, but
until then, don't worry about it.
