[patch] somewhat obscure 3c5x9 on MCA bug

The attached patch (against 2.3.40-4, despite what the header says) fixes
a bug whereby the 3c509 driver on MicroChannel assumes that the card is
left in register window zero, which will most likely not be true if you
booted using a boot ROM. Without this fix, the MAC address gets read
incorrectly, but other than that, nothing major happens.

PS: Patches to get etherboot's 3c509 module booting the MCA 3c5x9 cards is
available upon request.
