Compaq Netelligent & Linux.

Dear all,
I've just installed Linux on a Compaq 1850R, the chosen
distribution was a RH6.0 with a kernel 2.2.5-15. Everything was fine
(this confirm that the beloved Linux is getting a productive Op. Sys.
supporting also big hardware vendors' servers). The only problem was in
the driver of the network adapter (TLAN) that is a Compaq Netelligent
with an Intel chipset.
Infact when a recopiled the kernel with this support, after booting it
starts in dispaying messages like:

TLAN: giving more time for autonegotiation

desides of being annoying the matter doesn't get my box on the network.
When I ping another host I've have no response.

Any idea ?

Thanks Nicola.
