Weirdness in telnet

Some days ago, an error message started showing up every time I telnet
to our server:

Conectiva Linux versão 3.0 (Guarani)
Kernel 2.0.36 em um processador i586

configuration error - unknown item ']#' (notify administrator)

pcs001 login:

What's this "configuration error"?
