IP accounting in 2.2.x kernel

I have the follwong case:

Internal Linux Router Internet
Network <--> wiht Kernel 2.2.x <------->

How to make packet accounting ot 2.2.x kernel? I need to know how many bytes
where exchanget betwin Internet and ant IP on the Internal network.

Is there any solutions for this problem?

Any information will helpful.
