I'm directly connected to the Internet via a router. After the router is a
Linux box with 3 network adapter. eth0 is connected to the router, eth1 is
connected to the mail server and eth2 is connected to the local LAN with a
private IP addresses (10.x.x.x) through a switch.
The mails are not able to get to the users. I could see that the mails are
not appended in the /var/spool/mail/(USERS) file. Instead they go to the
mqueue directory to return to senders with a fatal error message, "Host
Unknown".
When I tested "host aa.bb.cc", I received the right response.
The log file has this:
incoming mail:
May 26 23:39:17 mail sendmail [24922]: delay 00:00:00, xdelay 00:00:00,
mailer=relay, relay=No, stat= Host Unknown (Name server: no: no data
known)
internal mail:
May 26 23:40:18 mail sendmail [28041]: XAA28041: from=<elf@aa.bb.cc>
size=0, class=0, pri=0, nrcpts=0, proto=ESMTP, relay=[10.50.80.70]
outgoing mail:
May 26 23:40:25 mail sendmail [28042]: NOQUEUE: Null connection from
[10.50.80.70]
What can be wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated.
