I research this myself some time ago and wasn't able to get it working
either. I found some info about a commercial linux driver for the
Sportster 128K, and managed to contact the guy -- he does not release the
source code, and it doesn't support all the features. I decided it
wasn't worth paying for it.

I'll hunt for my archive of that info - I'm sure I've still got it - and
email it to you, if you're determined to give it a go :-)
