As several people pointed out, the connection was in fact started at my end. I
was too concerned about an unknown privileged port connection to notice where
it started.
Pity I can't resolve the address to maybe work out what the connection was for.
It raises the question though; how does one keep /etc/services up-to-date? Is
there a canonical source that one can down-load?
