The book "Building Internet Firewalls" by Brent Chapman and Elizabeth Zwicky
would be a good book to get. It is published by O'Reilly & Associates. It is a
little out of date (pub. sept '95), but the general concepts are very much
relevant.

Yes there is a firewall HOW-TO, sorry I don''t have a link avail, there are also
mailing lists and newsgroups too.
