go to /usr/src/linux directory, type 'make menuconfig'. it will load your
.configfile. You can interactly change the configuration file. You must
have prior informatoion about the pci card type/ethernet card and other
hardware components like CDROM etc. help command in the 'make menuconfig
is available if you type '?' in a configuration line. Read 'README' file
in the directory. You may have to read Kernel-HOWTO.
