HostNameServer

I have a customer who, for some reason, wants to run a "Host Name Server" on
Linux. If I'm correctly informed this is an old and perhaps obsolete function.
The standard for this is IEN-116 and it uses port 42.
Why he wants to run this is beyond me, I would prefer a normal DNS-server
instead.
I've tried to search the Internet for this but haven't found anything.
My question is:
Does anyone out there know if there exists Linux-software for this and where it
can be found?
