saw them now. excuse me, I'm relatively new to linux.I've still got that, for
example now Transmit for eth0 reports 0 packets and 74 errors, of which 74 are
carrier errors

the ones that came canned with Redhat 5.1
looking at the rpm packager:
binutils: binutils-2.9.1.0.4-2
make: make 3.76.1-3
glibc: glibc 2.0.7-19
gcc -v reports version 2.7.2.3
and the rpm is release 2.7.2.3-11
should I consider getting other? (or switching to S.U.S.E which might seem
overkill but...)
