I have a general routing question. We have a dedicated link from UUNET and
IP addresses from them. We have Linux servers etc. Now sometimes due to the
local loop problem our link is down for 2-4 hours. During this time all
network/Internet activity stops. Now if I arrange for another link, say a
dedicated dialup line so in case of emergency I switch to that. If I do
that I will be given one IP address from my ISP, so I have the problem of
receving email and providing our dns service.
Can anyone suggest methods/routing technique so that our setup keeps
running and in case of emergency we switch to dialup line and yet no harm
comes to our services. Should I also include the dialup IP as secondary DNS
for my domain ?. Any alternative that you people have already implemented.
I have Linux for the dialup.
Thanks,
