Thanks for your response-
(1)adding append="0,0,eth1" to /etc/lilo.conf-run /sbin/lilo
and `alias eth1 tulip` to /etc/conf.modules allows auto-probe
on reboot-dmesg indicates no eth1 irq allocation,
same system hardware -switch to 3com 905tx cards, both are probed.
eth0,irq10 eth1,irq9.
(2) ifconfig eth0-<UP......>
ifconfig eth1-<not UP.....>
using ifconfig eth1 add (ip) netmask ( ) up
LOCKUP-machine locks up tight.-force check required to reboot.
tried netcfg tool-get error mesg-`delaying initialization`can not setup
eth1 to run properly-------loaded FreeBSD
i need a `dual homed host` machine i am out of time...NO SWEAT...
first card sets up as a dream...added second card...kernel <see's it>
out of the box, set up SIMPLE.../etc/rc.conf...files...ran into
a small set up problem with routing ..got excellent support from
support@FreeBSD.com ....try that with RedHat....i am impressed
from one who has used RedHat4.0/4.2/5.0..not a newbee
Thanks again but no thanks---mel
