I do not personally have experience with 100Mb cabling, but this did
come up just last Thursday while I was chatting with our number one
network guy, and he said that while we do it all the time for 10Mb
that we've never been able to get 100Mb to work reliably (at all?)
with crossovers. Mind you, this is essentially apocryphal, but I
place great faith in this guy as knowing his own business. You might
need to get a hub... I believe it was something about there not being
any timing available when you use a crossover.

Anybody who knows better feel free to gainsay me...
