I recently installed samba that came with Slackware 3.2. I suppose
samba version 1.6. I could list the shares available using the smbclient.
And connect to the share from WIN boxes using "\\servername" in the RUN
dialog box from the filemanager. But could not see this server in the
"Network Neighborhood" My setup as follows.
P5-win95 ------ linux & samba ------ 486-win95
I could see the both the win95 boxes in each other Network Neighborhood.
But not the Linux box. But I could connect to the linux box for either TCP/IP
or for samba operations. The TCP/IP protocol is binded to client for microsoft
networks. All are in the workgroup "LIB". List of the shares in linux box
says there exists an workgroup LIB.
What could be wrong?
TIA
