Wrong/not matching shadow password system, miscompiled pop3 daemon -
wrong options, incompetent/silly admin, missed/forgotten to read readmes.
Check out:
- which pop3 daemon is in voked ? (check /etc/ined.conf)
- how is pop3 daemon build ? (shadow or not shadow)
- check /etc/passwd /etc/shadow, if shadow passwds are there
- Right shadow system installed ?
This may occour, if a installation of a shoadow passwd suite or a pop3
daemon is done without checking it out.
I suggest: Install the shadow passwd system completely new including
new build from source, build and install the pop3 daemon new.
