ISP For students being made (Need HELP!)

Well I am a 17 year old kid you might say and I am making (At least
tring to) an ISP for students of HS and College level whos servers
only have the primitive email and telnet...
My ISP is going to be a telnet connection server with a 10mbit
ethernet connection into one of the local internet servers.
We have currently a 496 66hrz with 40mb ram and getting a couple gigs
for hard drive space..

What I need help in is everything from where to get cheap/good
hardware, info on how to make such a isp, programs for slackware (I
currently have slackware(96) with the 2.0.0 kernel), and so on...

I am making the server a non-profit server and any info on this kind
of service will be great...

I am new to the server side of Unix and need help in all issues of
making a server..
