I've never done print server using samba (will do soon, but I've no time
to RTFM these days), but such a low end machine will do really fine as an
internet gateway and web server (provided it's not hit too hard and no
mumbo jumbo CGI are run). About file server, you will have a problem if
you don't run SCSI, and even then, the ISA bus will be a big bottleneck.
If you're not concerned about transfer speed, then it should be fine.
8 megs RAM will not be enough, though, be prepared for heavy swapping, or
add another 8 meg RAM.
