This list is supposed to be for Linux networking issues, however here is an
explanation of some of the jargon:

PPP = Point to Point Protocol
TCP/IP = Transfer Control Protocol/Internet Protocol

There is a list for PPP related issues: linux-ppp@vger.rutgers.edu

Once you set up PPP, you can run a mail client program like pine on your
local machine and via PPP your machine will behave as though it is on the
internet, from any virtual console.
