PCI fail on bootup

Hello all!

I know this message might be a bit misplaced, but I'll try it anyway. I've
just setup a second Linux machine here, or at least the HW part of it. Now
I'm trying to boot off the ethernet boot disk, and it hangs on lance.c: PCI
Bios is present, checking for devices... I have two simple PCI devices in the
computer, namely an S3 graphics card and the onboard HDD/FDD controller
circuitry.

Could anybody give me a hint on how to fix this, or eventually just bypass
it? Thanx!

btw - this is Slackware96, kernel 2.0.0.
