Do I have a question for you people. (I have to be politically correct :) )
I have here a linux box doing Masq. for firewall purposes. Now when I was
working off at another sight they had a program called Firewall 1. A cute
little I shuld say BIG program that provied a hash table for IP translation.
one could take a ip or a groupe of IP address on a public side and assign
them a ip on leagle side. I want to assign IP's for a single machine really
or spacific IP's for spacific machines. For instance I have a Web server conn.
to a SQL server... I want to traslate the ip 172.62.1.50 to 208.130.11.195
or such in the firewall so that when one tries to hit 208.130.11.195 the firewall
forwords the request to the 172.62.1.50.
Now after much mispelling I would like to know if anyone knew how to do this,
if there was a program that does this, and if there was a proggie how to do
this how to use it.
Another question. I have two linux boxes for T1 routers fro SDL. (Good
cards btw, the CSU/DSU is built on bord). Anyway They provide a point to
point link between eachother and then go to the master cisco 2501. I chopped
the class C into 8 networks. And set some routes inbetween on the second
T1 box. now the problem. I have to do a /sbin/arp mac:address: ip address pub
to get all the non linux boxes to see the internet. I am thinking of using
gated and accepting rip announcements. But the big question is I cant get
the gated to accept or understand the interface statements. Seeing I have
eth0 and cisco1 for devices.
If anyone is intrested in the T1 cards they are at www.sdlcomm.com they fully
support linux for T1 and ISDN stuff...
thanks
jamie
