I have the following setup: (It seems very stable - thanks to all)
'Zenith' z-select 100 (486sx-33 + 8MB + 210 IDE + CL542X)
CardPort ISA (Dual socket PCMCIA host with Cirrus IC)
PCMCIA NCR/AT&T WaveLan v2 (2.4 GHz)
ISA SMC Ultra
with
Kernel 2.0.25
libc 5.4.7 - Binutil 2.7.0.3
pcmcia-cs-v.23
A few minutes after insertion the Wavelan 'goes to sleep'. The power
light
goes off and it is just inert. If the PCCard is removed and re-inserted then
I get
use of the port again - for a while. Also the card just wakes up on its own
sometimes.
I have this system duplicated 3 times (all the same hardware and software)
and they all do it. BUT
I also have EXACTLY the same software on a Thinkpad 760EL also fitted with
a
WaveLan. This does not suffer the 'go to sleep' problem.
Any ideas what/how to cure this ? (don't seem to be any nasty messages in
any logs)
Neither any of the desktops or the Thinkpad have any kind of apm installed.
The only other symptom is that the gap between the two 'pips' upon
instertion can
be quite a long time (5 sec ro so), compared with when I insert an NE2000.
Desperate for help
