Try "route add -net 127.0.0.0 dev lo"

Well, the idea being that all the hosts on the net have to have IP
addresses in the same subnet, and be using the same netscape. Assuming
that is correctly set, you will be able to use those addresses to
communicate between your hosts.
However, you will _not_ be able to talk directly to the Internet from any
host that doesnt have a "real" IP address, routed to you by your upstream
provider and the Internet backbone.
