ncpfs and long filenames

Apologies if this question has already been asked/answered.
I only just started getting this group.

I have used ncpfs on a late 1.3.5x kernel and didn't get mac
long filenames, although using the win95 (yuk) netware client
I did. Is this normal? If so, why?
