NE2000 card not recognised

I have recently installed linux.
I am facing problem with ne2000 card.
It is not being recognised by the system.
ifconfig shows eth0 being installed at
address 00:00:00:00 i.e it is not being recognised.
How to make it recognise that ne2000 is present at
a particular address.
